Frequently Asked Questions
I want to share my story...
One of the most common reasons people join the Alliance is because they want their experiences, perspectives, and stories to help create change. We welcome survivor stories and encourage members to submit them through our Share Your Story Form. Click here. Stories may be used to help inform advocacy efforts, awareness campaigns, research initiatives, educational content, future projects, member spotlights, media opportunities, reports, or other Alliance activities.
While we deeply value every story shared with us, submission does not guarantee publication, promotion, inclusion in a specific project, or an individual response. Due to the volume of submissions we receive and our limited capacity, some stories may be featured immediately, some may be used in future initiatives, and some may simply help inform our understanding of the survivor experience. Every story matters, whether it is publicly shared or not.
I Want to Share an Opportunity...
Please use the Share an Opportunity Form. Click here. This includes events, research studies, volunteer opportunities, campaigns, resources, partnerships, and other opportunities relevant to the CPTSD community.
I want to Volunteer or get more involved...
Please review Current Openings before reaching out. I want to access Peer Support and community...
The CPTSD Alliance is focused on awareness, advocacy, education, research, and systems change. While many Alliance members are survivors, the Alliance itself is not a peer support community and does not provide peer support, therapy, treatment, or crisis services. If you are looking for connection, conversation, support, and community with others who understand the impact of Complex PTSD, we invite you to join The CPTSD Community Hub using your exclusive Alliance member discount.
The Hub is a dedicated peer support community and offers support groups, workshops, community events, discussion spaces, and opportunities to connect with fellow survivors. Learn more about The CPTSD Community Hub here.
I have an idea, suggestion, or feedback...
Please use the Feedback & Ideas Form. Click here. Using the form helps us collect, review, and organize submissions more effectively than email..
I want to Participate in Advocacy Efforts...

We encourage members to visit the Action Center, review current opportunities, access the Advocacy Starter Kit, download awareness graphics, participate in letter-writing campaigns, sign petitions, complete surveys, and get involved in initiatives that align with their interests and capacity. There is no "right" way to participate. Every action, no matter how small, helps create change.

I still can't find what i'm looking for...
We've done our best to answer the most common questions and provide clear pathways for participation throughout the Alliance. However, we recognize that not every situation fits neatly into a form, category, or FAQ. If you've reviewed the Welcome Center, available resources, participation opportunities, and information on this page and still can't find what you're looking for, you're welcome to contact us directly.
Please email: alliance@thehealingandcptsdfoundation.org
While we may not always have an immediate answer or solution, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction. Please remember that the CPTSD Alliance is supported by a small volunteer-powered team, and response times may vary.Volunteer opportunities, Action Team openings, and other participation opportunities will be posted when available.
I'm looking for financial assistance, and want to know more about your healing grants....
We understand that many survivors face financial barriers to accessing healing resources, support, education, treatment, and other services. Providing direct support through Healing Grants is part of the long-term vision of The Healing and CPTSD Foundation. However, at this time, the Healing Grants Program is still in development and applications are not currently open.
As the Foundation grows and additional funding becomes available, we hope to expand our ability to provide direct support to survivors through future grant opportunities. At this time, our goal is to launch the Healing Grants Program by 2030. We encourage Alliance members to follow Foundation updates, the monthly newsletter, and the Alliance Welcome Center for announcements regarding future Healing Grant opportunities and program developments. You can add your email to our interest list, and you will be notified as soon as the program opens by clicking here.
I'm looking for a therapist that specializing in CPTSD, where can i find that?!...
This is one of the most common questions we receive. At this time, the CPTSD Alliance is not able to provide therapist recommendations, referrals, or clinical matching services. We recognize that finding qualified CPTSD-informed providers can be challenging, and we are aware of the significant need for better resources in this area. As the Alliance continues to grow, we are actively exploring ways we may be able to support survivors in navigating this challenge in the future.
In the meantime, we encourage individuals to research providers carefully, ask questions about their experience working with Complex PTSD, and seek professionals whose training, approach, and expertise align with their needs. While we may not have the answer today, it is a need we recognize and one we hope to address over time.
i have an idea of how i can help...
We are incredibly grateful for the ideas, expertise, opportunities, and insights shared by Alliance members. If you have an idea, opportunity, resource, partnership, or suggestion you'd like us to consider, please submit it through the appropriate form. (review below) While we review submissions whenever possible, we may not be able to pursue, implement, or respond to every idea due to our current priorities, capacity, and resources.
i want to help...
One of the most common things we hear from Alliance members is, "I want to help." We love that. At the same time, we've learned that wanting to help and having the capacity to help are not always the same thing... and that's okay. Whether you sign a petition, share an awareness graphic, complete a survey, volunteer for a project, or simply stay informed, every level of participation matters. The goal isn't to do everything. It's to contribute in the ways you can, when you can.
i want to jump on a call with you.. .
We appreciate your interest in collaborating with the Alliance. As a small volunteered powered team, we are unable to schedule exploratory calls with every individual, organization, professional, or supporter who reaches out. Instead, we ask that you first submit your idea, opportunity, expertise, or collaboration proposal through the appropriate form. If there is alignment with our current needs, priorities, and capacity, a member of our team may follow up to discuss next steps.
i submitted a form, when will i hear back?!
The Alliance is supported by a small volunteer-powered team. While we review submissions whenever possible, response times may vary and not all submissions will receive a response. We appreciate your patience and understanding. If there is alignment with our current needs, priorities, and capacity, a member of our team may follow up to discuss next steps.
why haven't i received a response?
The CPTSD Alliance is supported by a small volunteer-powered team. While we do our best to review submissions, inquiries, opportunities, ideas, invitations, and requests, we are not able to respond to every message we receive.
In many cases, a lack of response does not mean your submission was not appreciated, reviewed, or considered. It may simply reflect our current capacity, priorities, available resources, or the volume of requests we are managing.
As the Alliance continues to grow, we are working to build systems, resources, and opportunities that allow us to support the movement in a sustainable way. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to grow.
why isn't my idea being implemented?
The Alliance receives many ideas, suggestions, opportunities, and requests from members. While we genuinely appreciate every submission, we are not able to implement every idea. Decisions are based on mission alignment, strategic priorities, volunteer capacity, available resources, timing, and potential impact. A decision not to move forward with an idea is not a reflection of its value. More often, it reflects our current focus and capacity as a growing movement.
how are decisions made?
Alliance decisions are guided by our mission, strategic priorities, community needs, available resources, volunteer capacity, and long-term goals. We welcome feedback, ideas, and community input, but not every decision will reflect every suggestion received. A decision not to move forward with an idea is not a reflection of its value. More often, it reflects our current focus and capacity as a growing movement.
The alliance isn't doing enough. why doesn't the alliance do more?
We understand the desire to move faster.
The CPTSD Alliance is currently in its early stages of growth. While we have ambitious goals for the future, we are intentionally focused on building a strong, sustainable foundation before expanding programs, initiatives, leadership opportunities, partnerships, and activities. Our goal is not simply to grow quickly... it's to build something that lasts. As the Alliance grows, opportunities, resources, initiatives, and ways to get involved will continue to expand.
Can i start my own alliance group, chapter, event, or initiative?
Not at this time. To ensure consistency, sustainability, and alignment with the Alliance mission, all Alliance-branded groups, chapters, events, programs, and initiatives must be approved by Alliance leadership. If you have an idea, we encourage you to submit it through the appropriate form for consideration. click here.
Can i create my own Fundraising Campaign for the Alliance or Foundation?
Yes. Individuals, organizations, and supporters are welcome to create fundraising campaigns in support of our mission. You can create your own fundraising page by clicking here. If you need assistance setting up your campaign or have questions along the way, we are happy to help. Create your own Fundraising Campaign page by clicking here.
